Post Malone’s aesthetic is as mysterious as the number of tattoos he has. Nobody knows. What we do know, is that the “King of Rap/R&B singles” is just doing his own thing. But, before Sacramento can rock out to “White Iverson” or “Psycho”, we have to know how Posty himself went from SoundCloud guy to arena-selling performer.
Post Malone, a.k.a. Austin Richard Post, was born in Syracuse, New York before moving to Grapevine, Texas when he was 10-years-old.
In 2015 he released “White Iverson” on SoundCloud. The song blew up on the internet — so much so, that Republic Records signed him to his first contract.
With just two studio albums under his belt, Posty is no stranger to the Billboard Hot 100. The singer has broken into the Top 10 with bangers like “Psycho”, “Better Now”, and hit his first #1 single with “Rockstar”.
The rapper even broke records previously held by J. Cole and The Beatles, with a total of nine songs in the Top 20 at the same time.
Shortly thereafter, Malone released his album Beerbongs & Bentleys. Naturally, it debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts.
So, while Post Malone tends to stay quiet on the internet and his “always tired” tattoo truly exemplifies his “grind-mode” work ethic, there is nothing but noise coming from the music charts.
Posty has gone from SoundCloud rapper to Grammy-nominated artist. Though deep down, he’s still the same person that was discovered back in 2015. Just a funny (yet insanely talented) guy from Grapevine, Texas.
Don’t miss out on his Runaway Tour coming to Sacramento, Sept. 19!
