John Mayer stopped in Nashville on Thursday as part of his 2019 World Tour, but he wasn’t the only award-winning musician to step on stage.
Mayer brought Chris Stapleton out to perform a brand new song they wrote together just one day before, called “I Just Remembered That I Didn’t Care”. Naturally, the crowd went nuts for the collab no one was expecting.
Stapleton asked Mayer, “‘Do you want to do one of your songs or one of my songs?'” Mayer obviously didn’t want to stick to the status-quo because right before they debuted their song he told the crowd, “I got to town yesterday, we met up in the studio, we wrote this song yesterday, and we’re going to play it for you.”
Following the debut of their new song, the duo also performed Mayer’s hit love ballad, “Slow Dancing In A Burning Room”.
It takes some strong muscial talent to write a song and perform it in front of thousands of people, all within the span of 24-hours. But if anyone can do it, it’s Mayer and Stapleton. Curious to see what’ll go down on stage when John Mayer comes into Sacramento? Only one way to find out!
