The Foo Fighters have been rather secretive about the contents of their ninth album, Concrete and Gold, set to release Sept. 15.
However, the band’s frontman, Dave Grohl, has teased a mystery “pop star” collaboration, urging fans to take a guess.
In an interview with BBC Radio 1, Grohl admits, “[He or she] sings backup on one of the heaviest songs on the record,” he said. “And we’re not telling anybody who it is.”
He adds, “[…] we decided we were gonna make it our own dirty little secret and see if anyone can figure it out.”
Well the secret is out! In an interview with Rolling Stone, Grohl revealed that the mystery collaborator was none other than mega-star Justin Timberlake.
Grohl details to Rolling Stone, “He was really, really cool. Then the night before his last day [at a recording session in Los Angeles] he says, ‘Can I sing on your record? I don’t want to push it, but – I just want to be able to tell my friends.'”
You can look forward to more celebrity cameos on Concrete and Gold, as it was earlier revealed that Paul McCartney plays the drums on one track.
